What is fountain gate? is it famous
I think it is a shopping centre near Berwick. Definitely not famous but well known, if you live in Melbourne that is.
well actually it is famous, maybe differently to some, as it is the shopping centre that features in the Kath and Kim series, and is named after the suburb it is in, so fountain Gate is actually a place and there happens to be a famous shopping centre there. Oh and in the show they live in "Fountain Lakes" so if you know that side of melb you know where the story is set and so on.
In the first season, the Fountain Gate scenes were actually filmed at Melbourne Central though.
Maybe I'm thinking of the second and third series, but I definitely remember some scenes being filmed at Southland in Cheltenham.
Dunno, some of it might have been. One of my friends was an extra in the third season, in a scene that was shot at Fountain Gate.
