Simon sent me this news story yesterday. (Shoalwater Bay is the site of the Talisman Sabre wargames, where Simon and four others were arrested last year for inviting the soldiers to play frisbee instead.)
Mr Garrett says the proposed coal terminal would destroy the ecological integrity of the area.Simon said, 'Now we just have to get the Army, Navy and Air Force to stop bombing it and everything will be hunky dory.'
The Samuel Hill 5 had their trial in Yeppoon yesterday, for trespassing into a military training area during the Talisman-Sabre Australia/US war games, so they could play frisbee with the soldiers, and encourage them to play peace games instead of war games.
While we were doing lunch in Credo, there were people handing out free frisbees around the city and telling people about the Samuel Hill 5, and after lunch we met at Alexandra Gardens to play frisbee.

As regular readers of this blog will be aware, a couple of weeks back some of my friends got arrested for trespassing into a military training zone near Rockhampton, in order to play peace games with Australian and US soldiers. Simon Reeves has posted some stuff on his blog about what they did and why. 'Arrested for peace' is of particular interest. My colleague, Reverend Simon Moyle, has also posted some stuff on his blog about the action.

Scratch that. Only four of the seven have been found. June is among the four. Pray for them and the three still in the base.

We managed to shut down samuel hill air base for 1 and a half hrs and play frisbee with the soldiers. Now charged with tresspass & out on bail. God was with us.Simon and a number of other people I know are up near Rockhampton in Queensland, protesting the Australian/US wargames that are going on there at the moment.
