Leaves
I've not been doing much the last two days, because I've gotten a bit of a cold, and have been pretty tired due to busyness and lack of sleep. Yesterday I mostly just hung around our apartment while Ray did Jono's dreads, and in the afternoon I started cleaning up my room. I find that when my room is in a mess, that's what my mind tends to be as well. Afterwards I was wondering what the implications of that are for people who don't have their own private space, but have to live in public space. I ended up hanging a whole heap of leaves from the ceiling. I want to put heaps more up, but don't know if I will. Today I left my window open so they'd blow around and stuff, and they got all tangled up again, which meant more room/mind maintenance, so I'll probably not leave the window open all day tomorrow. Ray said maybe they looked better tangled, but I feel better with them untangled.

you're a strange one christop (I do mean that nicely :) )
I am flattered. :)
hey christop, i find that too (room is in a mess = mind is in a mess)...somehow everything just seems a bit clearer if the house is tidy...
maybe that just makes me a control freak?!
Maybe you're just very connected to your environment?
Yeah nah.... I agree. I used to say that mess doesn't affect me - but I think maybe the truth is more that I tend to like chaos.. Now that I have a huge house and family to be responsible for, I feel like if the house is messy, I'm messy. While I've never liked cleanign my room, and have claimed to like it that way, I hate it being messy now... I feel much more peaceful and able to engage in silence and calm [on the inside]. It might be too that I like things cleaner b/c I've been exploring conccepts on "inner silence" and contemplation.
i often wondered whether it's connected to being an extrovert? external stimulation matters to me, so it influences me? I dunno...I just know that if I'm stressed, or tired, a messy house can make it even worse, and I feel overwhelmed by things...a warm, tidy house with a clean kitchen and bathroom and fresh flowers is my idea of a great work space!
