$11.5 billion surplus

Okay, so the federal government has an $11.5 billion surplus for the year. (They budgeted for a $9 billion surplus.) What do you reckon they should do with all that money?

Allow some more refugees or at least improve their conditions. We always need more $$ in Desability Support. People could have more dignity in their life if there was more support in this area. or maybe they could reduce HECS (they could waive my $20000 debt!!)

That's really tricky to think about since there are so many good things you could do with it. My first thought was give some more to Make Poverty History idea. Or things like Mercy Ministry that help create wholeness in people's lives so they can step out of their destructive life cycles and LIVE! But I don't really know much about the needs of Australia. I live in my own little world too much.

yeah i like Tab's idea with refugees, we should help more get into the country and out of their troubled situations. We could give it to other countries to help improve health services, for vaccines, training health professionals etc. help fund the real needs of people, health, education, job training. Spend more on helping people get out of poverty around the world and maybe their will be less people to hate rich countries and want to blow up people.
